SPECIAL MEETING

AUGUST 29, 2006

6:00 p.m.

 

Mayor Dale Stanek called a special meeting of the Ely City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. on August 29, 2006 in the Conference Room at Ely City Hall.  Council Members present: Kevin Meskimen, Tom Winkowski John Smith and Mark Banowetz, Kris Tharp absent-excused.  Guests Bob and Mary Ballantyne

 

The City Council met in special session, pursuant to notice as required by State Code, to consider purchase of a 2006 Ford F-150 and to consider proposals to provide preliminary engineering and streetscape design services for the Dows Street Gateway Project.

 

Meskimen, second by Smith, moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried – 4 to 0.

 

Purchase of 2006 Ford F-150 Pickup, Junge Ford.  Banowetz, second by Meskimen, moved to approve purchase of a 2006 Ford F-150 from Junge Ford of Center Point, Iowa, for $12,588.00, as set out in the Junge Ford quote dated August 16, 2006.  Motion carried – 4 to 0.

 

Review Proposals and Accept Proposal for Preliminary Engineering & Streetscape Design – Dows Street Gateway Project.  Clerk-Administrator Anderson reported the following proposals to provide preliminary engineering and streetscape design for the Dows Street Gateway Project were received:

 

The Mayor and City Council discussed the proposals received, potential too coordinate the Dows Street Gateway project with trail development, and related matters.

 

Meskimen, second by Winkowski, moved to accept the proposal from MMS Consultants, of Cedar Rapids Iowa, to provide preliminary engineering and streetscape design for the 2008 Dows Street Gateway Project, received by the City of Ely on August 8, 2006.  Motion carried – 4 to 0.

 

Meskimen, second by Winkowski, moved to adjourn.  Motion carried – 4 to 0.  The meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
