With Ely’s rich agricultural history, it seemed only natural to hold the town festival in the fall.  Fall Fest encourages encourage farmers to take a break and have a relaxing day with friends before the busy harvest season kicks into full gear.  And gives us “city” folk, a chance to slow down and visit with our neighbors before the cold temperatures and the hustle and bustle of the holidays keep us indoors for the winter months.

All proceeds of the Ely Fall Fest go towards construction and development of the Ely City Park and maintenance of current city parks.  The City of Ely hopes to make Ely Fall Fest a fun, family oriented celebration that people of all ages can look forward to every fall

2^nd Annual Co-Rec Kickball Tournament.  The 2009 Fall Fest Kickball Tournament was GREAT! 16 teams got together at Ely City Park for great fun, great competition and an overall great time!  The Company Store (of Ely) won the tournament and took home the big trophy with Multiple Scoregasms as runner-up; Average Joes came in third place and Champion Seed in fourth.

Fall Fest 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.  Nate Canton was the overall winner of the 2009 Fall Fest 5K winner, and is a familiar face in Ely as both an Ely resident and repeat winner with a final time of 15:54!  Amanda Weyer, of Swisher, was the overall women’s winner and finished the race in 20:55.  The 2^nd Annual Ely 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk had even more runners than last year .  Congratulations to all 120 people who participated in the 2009 Fall Fest 5K! We look forward to seeing you at next year’s 5K!

Taylor Rasmussen of Ely got the win in the Fall Fest 1-mile with a time of 6:35, with Mackenzie and Mike Mudd, also of Ely, right behind. There were a lot of younger runners among the 52 1-milers, all did GREAT!
