ORDINANCE No. 197

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SPEED ZONES ON JAPPA ROAD

 

 

            SECTION 1.  PURPOSE.  The purpose of this ordinance is to establish special speed zones that set out acceptable speed limits on Jappa Road by amending §3-3-11 of the Ely City Code. 

 

SECTION 2.  §3-3-11(1.m) ENACTED.  The following is hereby adopted as Section 3-3-11(1.m) of the Ely City Code:

1.     Jappa Road from Dows Street to two hundred feet (200’) north of Rogers Creek Road for south bound traffic. 

 

2.     Jappa Road from Dows Street to the north city limits for north bound traffic. 

 

SECTION 3.  §3-3-11(2.a) REPEALED. Section 3-3-11(2.a) of the Ely City Code is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 4.  §3-3-11(2.a) ENACTED.  The following is hereby enacted as Section 3-3-11(2.a) of the Ely City Code:

 

a.         Jappa Road from two hundred feet (200’) north of Rogers Creek Road to the north corporate limits for south bound traffic.

 

            SECTION 5.  CITY SHALL INSTALL SIGNS.  The City shall install signs as needed to adequately notify the public of the special speed zones created herein.

 

SECTION 6. REPEALER CLAUSE.  Any ordinance, provision or part thereof, which differs or is inconsistent with this ordinance is hereby repealed, to the extent of said difference or inconsistency.

 

SECTION 7.  SEVERABILITY.  If any section, provision or part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional

 

SECTION 8.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This ordinance shall be in effect following its final passage, approval, publication of this ordinance and installation of signs as required by law.
