ORDINANCE No. 199

AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE SALARIES OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND THE MAYOR

 

SECTION 1.  §2-4-1 & 2-4-2 REPEALED.  Section 2-4-1 and 2-4-2 of the Ely City Code are hereby repealed in their entirety. 

 

            SECTION 2.  §2-4-1 ENACTED.  The following is hereby enacted as Section 2-4-1 of the Ely City Code:

2-4-1   COUNCIL MEMBER.  The salaries of each City Council member shall be $40.00 for each meeting of the City Council. 

 

            SECTION 3.  §2-4-2 ENACTED.  The following is hereby enacted as Section 2-4-2 of the Ely City Code:

2‑4‑2               MAYOR.  The Mayor shall receive an annual salary of $4,000.00 to be paid in equal quarterly installments. 

 

SECTION 4. REPEALER CLAUSE.  Any ordinance, provision or part thereof, which differs or is inconsistent with this ordinance is hereby repealed, to the extent of said difference or inconsistency.

 

SECTION 5.  SEVERABILITY.  If any section, provision or part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional

 

SECTION 6.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This ordinance shall be in effect beginning January 1, 2008, following final passage, approval, and publication of this ordinance as required by law.
