Nearly 40 vendors in one easy location – the Ely American Legion! Support home based businesses this Holiday season – from baked goods, candles, jewelry, crafts & more. FREE admission, door prizes and gift wrapping services on site! Don’t miss your chance to support your community and finish up your Holiday shopping all in one day!
5k Registration & Race Information:
Day of race registration will be held at Dan & Debbie’s – race shirts are not guaranteed the day
of the race. The registration fee increases by $5 the day of the event; so in an effort to save
yourself time and money by pre-registering here. Post race snacks will be provided. There
will be fun prizes awarded after the race – we’ll be on the search for the most “festive” participant! Make sure you stick around after the race to enjoy all the family friendly events that Winterfest and the City of Ely have to offer!
Community Ice Skating Rink – Grand Opening:
The City of Ely Park and Recreation Commission is hosting their grand opening event of the Community Ice Skating Rink at Winterfest. Ice skates will not be provided by the City. There will be beverages, candy and homemade snacks for sale – as well as fun winter activities inside the Community Center. Don’t forget to decorate an ornament to add to the “community tree”!
Chili Cook Off:
Do you love warm chili on a cold day? Then you won’t want to miss this years Winterfest Chili Cook Off at the Ely Public Library! Click here to sign up to bring your favorite recipe. The event is free and open to the public, stop by and vote for your favorite recipe! Votes are a penny a piece, ex. $1 = 100 votes. The chili with the most votes in the end wins half their earnings!
The library is hosting not only the delicious chili cook off but will also be the location for cookie decorating fun! Participants will receive one free cookie to decorate and enjoy before heading out to catch all the other exciting events happening throughout Ely.
Reindeer Visit & Free Carriage Rides:
It will be a Winter Wonderland in Ely on December 16th – complete with a horse drawn carriage and reindeer! The friendly reindeer will be waiting to greet you outside of the Ely Public Library, which is only a short walk from Dan & Debbie’s Creamery – which is where you can hope on a beautiful horse drawn carriage ride that will take you on a ride around town.
Holiday Themed Photo Booth:
Break out those silly Holiday sweaters, match colors with your siblings or just dress your child up in their favorite winter outfit – Courtney Kremer with Bella Vista Photography will be taking FREE holiday themed photos at Naturally Chiropractic.
Lighted Winterfest Parade:
What makes a parade more fun? Snow & lights of course! There’s no better way to end a fun filled day than with a festive parade filled with bright colored lights and Holiday music. Anyone and everyone is welcome enter the parade. Dec out your golf cart, vehicle, trailer or whatever your inventive mind can think of – add tinsel and lights, or build something creative – the more festive, the better! Parade route below:
