2021 Citizen of the Year

Jim Miller Ely Citizen of the Year

After reviewing many wonderful submissions, the Selection Committee has named Josh Entler the 2021 Jim Miller Ely Citizen of the Year! Volunteers are truly the heart and soul of every Community. We are fortunate to have someone like Josh helping make Ely a better place for us all to call home. After reading Josh’s nomination letters, it’s easy to see why:

To quote the nominations we received, “Josh is no stranger to hard work and is a neighbor that anyone would be proud to have”. Throughout the letters his neighbors spoke of how he immediately jumped into action after the Derecho and began lending a helping hand. Not only did he help cut down trees and grind stumps in the aftermath of the storm, he has also been there to help those in need with engineering/mechanical issues in their home and even with snow removal. On top of all of the hard work that he has put into his neighborhood, he has also given countless hours of his time by serving on the Planning & Zoning Committee for over 5 years.

He is a generous neighbor and a giving person. His selfless volunteer hours and drive to better the lives of his neighbors and those in our community is inspiring and exemplifies what the Jim Miller Ely Citizen of the Year stands for.

Congratulations Josh and thank you for everything that you have done and continue to do for your community!
