2021 Citizen of the Year

What a year 2020 has been.. Now more than ever it is important to lift each other up and remember what it means to be compassionate and lend a helping hand when you can.

Together we weathered the Derecho, we continue to battle the covid-19 pandemic and have struggled with much more in between. Ely even lost someone special early this year. A person who contributed a great deal to our city and had an impact on many of the families that call Ely home, Jim Miller. Though we have dealt with adversity in 2020, we have seen countless inspiring leaders step up in our community.

The Jim Miller Citizen of the Year Award is a way for us to recognize the very people who represent what it means to Be Ely, just as Jim did. As of today, submissions are now being accepted for the 2021 award. If you know someone who deserves to be recognized in our community, please consider nominating them. There are no nominations too big or too small, we want to hear from you! Get more information here, https://www.elyiowa.com/citizen-of-the-year/
