Water Main Break

January 14, 2022 8:30am update -

The Old Town District boil advisory has now been lifted. This is the final boil advisory that was in place within City limits. All water samples tested throughout the course of the water line break have come back clear. Staff appreciate everyones patience and cooperation this past week.

 

January 13, 2022 12:00pm update -

The boil advisory has now been lifted for the homes within the highlighted sections of the map below. Test results came back clear. The boil advisory remains in effect for the Old Town District until tomorrow afternoon, when tests results are verified.

January 13, 2022 7:15am update - 

Water has been restored to all homes and businesses. A cautionary boil advisory for the Old Town District is in effect until water samples are verified. 

 

Update 7:45pm -

Staff have again isolated the leak at Ely Manor. The water has been turned off. The contractor will have repairs completed by 2am and water will be restored to all Ely residents at that time. No additional boil advisory is anticipated.

 

Update 5:45pm - 

Residents within the Old Town District, near City Park and surrounding areas may experience decreased pressure or no water service. Ely Manor Contractors were working to restore water to residents in the building and experienced significant issues causing the curb stop valve to be damaged - resulting in the service line begin to leak again. City staff are turning off water main valves to isolate the leak. Ely Manor contractors and city staff are working quickly to restore water to those that impacted. We will share an update as soon as it is available. Thank you!

 

Update 12:00pm - 

Staff are lifting the city-wide boil advisory. However, out of an abundance of caution, the advisory will remain in effect for homes in the highlighted locations in the image below. Staff are running water tests and will have the results tomorrow morning. At that time we expect to lift the boil advisory for the remaining impacted homes. Thank you once again for your continued cooperation!

Update 9:40am -

Staff have isolated the leak in the line. Water will be restored to all impacted residents and businesses, other than Ely Manor, within the hour. The city-wide boil advisory will remain in effect for the time being. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will continue to update everyone as more information is available.

 

6:50am -

ALERT: Major water main break within the City of Ely. Staff and crew are working to isolate the break. Due to this emergency, several homes and all downtown businesses will be without water. As a result and out of an abundance of caution, there is a city-wide boil advisory in effect until further notice. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
