City Hall Parking Lot Project - Complete
Parking lot opened on Friday December 3, 2021
The City Hall parking lot will be developed to the east of City Hall, across Rowley Street from the St. John Lutheran Church. The land was purchased from the church with the understanding that the City would construct a parking area that could be utilized by both parties. City staff are working with engineering staff to move sponsored project funds from the City Hall Parking Lot project to the City Park Parking Lot project. This would allow the City to construct the City Hall Lot with traditional techniques, rather than permeable pavers as originally discussed, while still including necessary stormwater improvements that are needed in the Rowley Street area. The cost of the City Hall lot was included in the recent bond issue. City staff hope to complete construction on the City Hall Parking Lot no later than the end of November 2021.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The matter of the of the public hearing on approving plans, specifications, and form of contract for the City Hall Parking Lot project located in Ely, Iowa, shall come on for hearing on the 2ndday of August 2021, at 7:00 o’clock P.M., at the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1570 Rowley St, Ely, Iowa. At said public hearing the Council shall consider approving the plans, specifications, and form of contract for the City Hall Parking Lot project.
