CLOSED: Ely Downtown Reconstruction - Phase 1

The project will involve the following: replace and abandon existing 4-inch water main with approximately 215 LF of 6-inch and 1,320 LF of 10-inch C900 PVC water main and 158LF of 10-inch ductile iron water main. Project will replace and remove existing sanitary sewer with 508 LF of 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer and construct 200 LF of 4-inch PVC sanitary sewer. The existing disturbed roadway surface will be replaced with approximately 1,255 SY of 8-inch PCC pavement and 5,730 SY of 6-inch HMA pavement along with curb & gutter, sidewalks, and crosswalk pavers. Project will replace and remove the existing storm sewer with approximately 2,483 LF of RCP storm sewer of varying sizes. Sealed proposals will be received at City Hall, located at 1570 Rowley Street, Ely, IA 52227, until 10AM on February 27, 2024.  All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time and place.

CLOSED: City Park Parking Lot

The project will involve the following: A parking lot in Ely City Park, as well as a driveway extension to connect said parking lot to Northgate Drive. Sealed bids for the work comprising the repair or improvement as stated below must be filed before 2:00 P.M. on January 31, 2024, in the office of the City Clerk, 1570 Rowley Street, Ely, Iowa. Sealed proposals will be opened and bids tabulated at 2:00 P.M. on January 31, 2024, in the office of the City Hall, City of Ely, 1570 Rowley Street, Ely, Iowa with the results being reported to the City of Ely City Council at its meeting at 7:00 P.M. on February 5, 2024, at which time the City Council may take action on the proposals submitted or at such time as may then be fixed. The City of Ely City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be to the best interest of the City of Ely.

CLOSED: Banner Valley Sidewalk Project

The project will involve the following: Construction of approximately 1,450 linear feet of sidewalk along the south side of Banner Valley Road from Pacific Street to Rock Island Drive including site grading, intersection reconstruction, and storm sewer modifications. Sealed proposals will be opened and bids tabulated at 2:00 P.M. on September 12, 2023, in the office of the City Clerk, City of Ely, 1570 Rowley Street, Ely, Iowa with the results being reported to the City of Ely at its meeting at 7:00 P.M. on September 18, 2023 at which time the City Council may take action on the proposals submitted or at such time as may then be fixed. The City of Ely City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be to the best interest of the City of Ely. CLOSED: State Street Paved Shoulder Project

The project will involve the following: 500 CY excavation, 2,000 SY modified subbase, 500 tons HMA widening for shoulder, and other related work. Sealed proposals for the “State Street Paved Shoulders Project” (the Project) will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Ely, Iowa, until 2:00 P.M. on the 1st day of September 2021, and shall be received in the City Clerk's office no later than said date and time. Sealed proposals will be opened immediately thereafter by the City Clerk. Bids submitted by fax machine shall not be deemed a "sealed bid" for purposes of this Project. Proposals will be acted upon by the City Council following at 7:00 P.M. on the 7th day of September 2021, or at such later time and place as may then be scheduled. The project will involve the following: 493 LF storm sewer, 5 storm structures, 1,819 SY HMA pavement, 701 LF PCC curb and gutter, 222 SY PCC sidewalk, site lighting, erosion control, and other related work. Sealed proposals for the “City Hall Parking Lot Project” (the Project) will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Ely, Iowa, until 2:00 P.M. on the 2nd day of September 2021, and shall be received in the City Clerk's office no later than said date and time. The project will involve the following: 3,686 SY HMA pavement, 2130 LF longitudinal sub-drain, 130 SY PCC sidewalk, erosion control, and other related work. Sealed proposals for the “Knoll Drive and North Drive Street Improvements Project” (the Project) will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Ely, Iowa, until 2:00 P.M. on the 17th day of August 2020, and shall be received in the City Clerk’s office no later than said date and time. RFP - Ely Downtown Street Reconstruction:

This request for proposals is for planning and preliminary design services related to the reconstruction of the City’s downtown area to include street, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water distribution system evaluation and preliminary design. The project area is shown in the attached exhibit below. Reconstruction of mid- block alleys are to be included in the preliminary design.
