Arbor Day Tree Planting

Celebrate Arbor Day the way it should be celebrated, by planting trees! Join representatives from Ely Parks & Recreation, Alliant Energy and Trees Forever for a short Friday event planting a few trees in each of Ely's four parks: City Park, Schulte Park, Vavra Park and at the Community Center.

After a brief demonstration on the best practice for planting trees, volunteers will head out to their designated park and will get to plant several landscape sized trees as a group. The holes will be pre-dug. 

This is the perfect event for participants of all ages! Come get your hands dirty and be a part of something that will have a positive lasting effect on the community for decades to come 

This Arbor Day tree planting event is made possible due to the 2021 Branching Out grant that was awarded to the City of Ely, and is the first of several planting events of the year. Stay tuned for more opportunities.
