Procession Honoring Robert McFarland

Ely FD Memory

Tomorrow, Saturday March 27, an honorable procession will assist Lieutenant Robert McFarland as he makes his final journey home. Fire Departments and local emergency service crews will be leading the procession through town along the posted route. All members of the public are encouraged to pay tribute to our fallen hero. We anticipate tremendous participation from statewide departments. For those who wish to pay tribute, we ask that you please avoid on street parking along Rock Island Dr. and Pacific Street so that the fire trucks and emergency vehicles have adequate room to pass. There will be parking available along Main and Dows Street. Use caution when traveling along State Street within city limits as we anticipate both sides of the road being filled with cars. We can all do our part by keeping the route clear and the intersections open.

The procession is anticipated to make their way through Ely between 1:00 – 3:00pm, tomorrow Saturday March 27.

The route will come from the south along state street before turning down Rock Island Dr. They will take a left onto Pacific, followed by another left onto Banner Valley. They will pass the Ely Fire Station and continue down to Dows Street where they will make left towards downtown. Their final turn will be a right onto State Street as they head north out of town.
