Plow Truck Snow Emergency

Update as of 9:30am Dec. 23:

New day, new reminder. The current snow emergency is in effect through noon tomorrow, Saturday Dec. 24. This means that cars should not be parked on city streets or they will be marked to be towed. It is dangerously cold outside, if you don't have to travel - stay home and keep warm Thank you for your cooperation!

 

Update as of 2:00pm Dec. 22: 

Public Works is reporting an excessive amount of cars parked on the streets during this snow emergency, making it much more difficult to effectively plow. They have marked the majority of vehicles in violation of the parking ban with a warning for today, being as it is the first snow emergency of the season. After today, vehicles will be subject to towing. Please remove all parked cars from city streets through Saturday December 24 at 12pm noon.

The City of Ely will declare a snow emergency effective 10pm Wednesday Dec. 21 through Saturday 12pm noon Dec. 24 The extended duration of this snow emergency is due to blowing snow (blizzard conditions predicted) that will continue even after the snow has stopped falling. Please clear streets of parked cars during this time period; city lots are available for use on Rowley and Main Street.
